GP practice website suppliers in England compared (2026)

By Sreeni, Editor · Last reviewed 24 October 2026 · 6 minute read

Our interest, and how we chose what to compare

We sell GP practice websites, so we’re one of the suppliers in this table. We’ve listed ourselves on exactly the same terms as everyone else, from our own published pricing and security pages.

How we put the table together:

  • We listed the GP website suppliers for practices in England that GP practice directories and the trade press name.
  • For each one, we read its own website on 24 October 2026 and copied what it publishes. For My Surgery Website we also used its listing on the government’s G-Cloud marketplace.
  • We compared the things a practice can check for itself: the published price, setup fee, VAT, contract terms, the accessibility standard each supplier states, and the security and clinical safety assurance it states.
  • Where a supplier doesn’t publish something, we say “Not published”. Where we couldn’t read its website, we say “Not checked”.
  • We copied what each supplier says about itself. We didn’t check certificates, test anyone’s websites or score them, and we don’t give opinions about other suppliers.

How to use this table

  • Read prices as published. Some suppliers quote plus VAT, some say no VAT, and some don’t say. Most practices can’t reclaim VAT, so a price plus VAT costs you 20% more. Ask for the full cost of the first three years, with VAT and any setup fee.
  • Treat “Not published” as a question, not an answer. It means the supplier didn’t say on its website, not that it doesn’t offer it.
  • Ask for evidence of every claim. A logo or a sentence on a website isn’t a certificate. Our guide How to choose a GP website supplier: 22 questions lists what to ask and what a good answer sounds like.

Suppliers are in alphabetical order. Three have similar names: GP Surgery Sites, GPsurgery.net and us, gpsites.co.uk. They’re three separate companies.

Accessibility and security

What each supplier states about the accessibility standard its websites meet, and its own security and clinical safety assurance (the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, or DSPT, Cyber Essentials and the DCB0129 clinical safety standard). Checked 24 October 2026.

Building your own website

Some practices build their own site rather than use a supplier. NHS England’s free guide, Creating a highly usable and accessible GP website for patients, which some directories list as the “NHS Website Toolkit”, sets out what a practice website should do. It asks for at least WCAG 2.1 AA. It’s guidance, not a website: you’d still need to build, host and look after the site yourself, and handle its security.

Worth knowing

  • My Surgery Website is closing. It closes on 31 March 2027, so practices can’t sign up to it now. We’ve listed it because many practices are comparing their current contract with others. Our guide to leaving My Surgery Website covers what to do. We aren’t connected to My Surgery Website, SRCL or Stericycle.
  • Silicon Practice is in administration. Its owner, Schappit Ltd, appointed administrators on 16 October 2026, stopped trading on 27 October 2026, and its practice websites went offline on 28 October 2026. The business was sold on 2 November 2026 to a buyer the administrators haven’t named. We’ve kept it in the table because practices are comparing what they had with what’s available now. Our Silicon Practice guide covers what to do. We aren’t connected to Silicon Practice, Schappit Ltd, the administrators or the buyer.
  • Practice365 and iatro. The iatro.health website now redirects to Agilio Software’s Practice365 page.
  • DSPT status is public. You can check any supplier’s Data Security and Protection Toolkit status yourself on the DSPT website, by name or organisation code.
  • Prices change. Offers end and price lists are updated. Ask every supplier for a written quote before you compare.

Questions

Which GP website supplier is the cheapest?

There's no single answer. Suppliers sell different packages, some add a setup fee or VAT, and several don't publish prices at all. Ask each one for the full cost of the first three years, with VAT, for the package you'd actually use, and compare those totals.

How can we check a supplier's security claims?

Ask for the evidence. Anyone can look up an organisation's Data Security and Protection Toolkit status on the DSPT website, using its name or organisation code. For Cyber Essentials, ask for the certificate and its expiry date. For clinical safety, ask for the DCB0129 safety case and hazard log.

Is gpsites.co.uk connected to My Surgery Website or NHS England?

No. gpsites.co.uk is an independent supplier run by GP Sites Limited. We're not part of the NHS, and we're not connected to My Surgery Website, SRCL or Stericycle.

Something about a supplier is wrong or out of date. What should we do?

Email hello@gpsites.co.uk with a link to where the supplier publishes the right information, and we'll check it and correct the page. Suppliers can do the same.

Correct as of October 2026. Every supplier fact on this page was copied from that supplier's own website, or the government's G-Cloud listing, on 24 October 2026. Suppliers change their prices and terms, so check the latest with each one before you compare.
